
The latest episode on the Transportation TV series entitled State DOTs Respond to Coronavirus: A Video Diary highlights work by the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Division of Aeronautics to help volunteer aviators who are donating their time and aircraft to transport critical medical supplies to rural hospitals.
Groups such as the Civil Air Patrol and Angel Flight have partnered with the Colorado DOT to deliver surgical masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline medical workers, as well as transporting lifesaving ventilators to patients who need them.

William Thomas Piper, Sr., an aircraft manufacturer and businessman who left an indelible imprint on the aviation industry, died in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, at the age of 89. During the course of his long career, Piper had become widely known as the “Henry Ford of aviation.”
