Smith Named Vice Chair of AASHTO Committee on Construction

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials has appointed Shawn Smith, senior project manager with the Maine Department of Transportation, to a two-year term as the vice chair for its Committee on Construction.
A 30-year veteran of the Maine DOT, Smithโs career experience spans highway reconstruction, pavement preservation, and bridge repair activity to recruitment and retention activities as well as managing the stateโs capital interstate system projects.
Within the Committee on Construction, Smith currently serves as vice chair of the Roadways and Structures Technical Subcommittee and serves as a Region 1 representative on the Joint Technical Committee on electronic engineering standards.
