In this short video clip, Jim Tymon (seen above) – executive director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – provides a preview of the virtual 2020 AASHTO Annual Meeting, November 9 through November 13.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R) will deliver remarks on Monday, November 9. Additionally, AASHTO is hosting eight knowledge and spotlight sessions during its four-day annual meeting to discuss some of the most important issues facing the nation’s transportation sector.

Panelists will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the nation’s transportation system, how state departments of transportation are incorporating civil rights principles into their programs, as well as highlighting the need to build a safer and more resilient transportation network at a time when hurricanes, wildfires, and cybersecurity threats are growing in frequency and severity.
