The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, an equal opportunity employer, is currently seeking to hire a director of technology and digital Strategy who will also serve as the organization’s chief information officer at its Washington, D.C., headquarters.

As a member of the senior management team reporting directly to AASHTO’s executive director, the director of technology and digital strategy has organization-wide responsibility for four primary technology domains that support AASHTO’s data-driven decision making goals: enhancing the connected organization, ensuring risk management and governance, and enabling a digital engagement strategy within the organization’s membership.

The director of technology and digital strategy also oversees the establishment and execution of an organization-wide IT strategy and implementation roadmap. In doing so, they are responsible for developing an annual operating plan and budget that clearly aligns with, supports and reinforces organization-wide plans.

Candidates for this position must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience along with a proven record of accomplishment of managing organization-wide technology and digital strategy, preferably in a similar position in a membership association.

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or another related field is required, with evidence of advanced professional attainment such as a master’s degree and up-to-date professional certifications desired.
