Shawn Wilson – secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development – will join a panel discussion on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or DEI in transportation communications at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Committee on Transportation Communications, known as TransComm.

Wilson, who also serves as AASHTO’s vice president, will participate in the DEI panel on the first day of TransComm’s three-day meeting, which will be held virtually September 21 through 23.

TransComm is comprised of state department of transportation communications and marketing professionals from all the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.

It promotes excellence in communications through the exchange of ideas and educational programming, presents annual skills awards and advises other committees on communications issues.

Programming for the 2021 TransComm Annual Meeting will also include sessions on growing public involvement; communicating the benefits of transportation; safety campaign successes; and many other topics.
