In this installment of the ‘On Time with Tymon’ video series, Jim Tymon (seen above) – executive director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – discusses the implementation progress to date on the one-year anniversary of passage of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or IIJA measure.

Enacted November 2021, the IIJA includes $351 billion for highways over five years from the Highway Trust Fund and the General Fund, with $307 billion provided as formula apportionments to states.

In the video, Tymon talks about the important bipartisan nature of the IIJA, how state departments of transportation are implementing the measure, and how the IIJA is helping improve mobility networks across the country.

Produced by AASHTO’s Transportation TV division, the ‘On Time with Tymon’ video series provides news and analysis on a full range of transportation-related topics in each episode, including safety, equity, funding, economic development, innovation, and more.
